ZYXverse Open Graph EIP or why standardization of gaming NFTs is needed.

Hi. My name is Roman Saidulin and I am a co-founder and Managing Director of Timeus Lab. A company that has been developing various services in terms of scale and complexity in the field of blockchain for 4 years.

Today we are creating a new Initiative ZYXverse in the ZYX Network to attract game projects and help at an early stage to simplify the integration of new projects into one network, where the player gets the most interesting experience.

And today I would like to designate a problem that appeared too quickly and which was mentioned earlier as promising, but the field of P2e, as well as NFT games, has developed very quickly. And this problem went unnoticed.

And if today we do not begin to discuss any possibilities for unification and standards in this area, we risk ending up in the same place where the crypto industry in general is today. Where are the ideas and tasks described by Satoshi, today, and in the past, have not been heard. And each large project does everything as it sees fit, and then begins to come up with unification, launch bridges with different levels of automation or code relays from EVM to RUST, etc.

The problem that I would like to remind you about is the unification of games and game universes by transferring nft similar game attributes from one game to another. After all, this, as it seemed to us, was the main advantage of blockchain games. When a player decides what exactly to keep and develop in the game, and not a centralized company or an admin in the game. When a player violates some new social rule, he can lose everything that he has achieved in the game and lose all his progress or items after the ban.

I propose to introduce a standardization format for game nft so that new game makers can easily implement collections and attributes of other games to themselves and thereby increase the turnover of nft items for the creator of one game and give a new experience to the player in the second game. All 3 parties benefit from this, but I will write about the economic components below.

“Why is the standardization of gaming nft necessary?”

The player is the most important thing for what the games are created and who ensures the life and development of the game. Each game developer strives to create interesting mechanics, graphics, expand attributes and collections. To put it simply, the main problem for the game is a drop in interest, saturation with the game, and only loyal fans of the game remain.

The standardization of NTF attributes will allow everyone to win out in this new and wonderful market.

Let’s take an example

There is a Sandbox project in which there is nft land. If we look at the JSON file format, we will see the following:

https://api.sandbox.game/lands/160144/metadata.json

Those we can observe the classic approach of building our own format. Now, if the creator of Game 2 decides to somehow simplify his life, then he has 2 approaches.

The first way is to create a relay for each collection so that the nft object in game 2 can take the previously described attributes and then the object in game 2 can understand which attributes can be used in game 2.

The second way is to offer the player to crush a new nft in game 2 if he has nft with certain attributes in game number 1.

Standardization would make life easier for everyone. And to players and game creators. And most importantly,

for the player, this would expand the possibilities for the transition to other games without substantial losses. Would increase the number of opportunities for pumping items. Would create a new market for landing / boring systems, etc.

for the creator of game 1 — the turnover of nft of game 1 would not fade away with the player’s departure to another game, and would also continue to bring royalties when reselling items in new games. Opportunities for attracting players from other games would increase. Partnerships and synergies.

For the creator of game 2, this will allow attracting new players to the free game, offering them new mechanics and associations of nft items according to their characteristics. That will increase the growth rate of users and increase the turnover of in-game items unique to game 2.

So, I present to your attention ZYXverse Open Graph EIP

What is ZYXverse Open Graph EIP?

ZYXverse Open Graph EIP tags are a code snippet that controls how this or that attribute will look like or what characteristics and distinctive features it has.

It is part of the Zyxverse Initiative Program, which is used for gaming and other projects on the ZYX network, and allows objects to move between applications or games, and retain their characteristics.

Fields are usually located in a JSON file under a separate link, which is rigidly tied to one or another NTF.

Here are some examples:

As you can see, such a standardized format will greatly simplify future interactions and increase market penetration and integration.

We invite developers and everyone involved to take part in the creation of one format. In our opinion, it is worth separating the graphs for different modules in games:

  • the character
  • game attribute
  • immovable attribute
  • movable attribute

If we talk about examples

“Character” will allow the creators of game 2 to either find a character that is suitable for their characteristics in their game based on the parameters of nft game 1, for example, if game 1 is a strategy, and game 2 is a 1-person shooter. Or import a ready-made character from game 1 into your game, if games with one game model.

What else does the ZYXverse Initiative offer?

We are ready to help projects that use the ZYXverse Open Graph EIP tags format through the ZYXverse hub (analog of the Steam application) publishing the game in our application, as well as with the incubation and subsequent maintenance of teams and their projects.

Also, game creators will be able to use a specially developed SDK in order to check the compatibility of their attribute formats with the ZYXverse Open Graph EIP. And if the format has already been created earlier, then use simple and understandable interpreters to add to the catalog and interact with other games in the same network and universe.

We’d love to hear from you about this idea and our endeavor.

Thanks
